SMHS MCAS TESTING SCHEDULE

06/04/13 Grade 10 - Bio Session 1
06/05/13 Grade 10 - Bio Session 2

**************************************************************************************************************************************

Q.)  Why is the prom scheduled on Friday May 3, 2013, the day before Saturday SAT Testing?
A.)  Guidance recommends taking SAT tests once in the spring and a second time in the fall.  Prom goers have a June option for SAT if they choose.  Taking the test in May and June may not show a significant improvement with tests only one month apart.

Q.) What has happened to the Tri-M Music Honor Society?  Is it still in place in the new building?
A.)  Yes.  All students involved will be recognized at class day and graduation.  Induction of new officers will take place after April vacation.  Recognition of this honor can and should be reflected on student resumes and college applications.

Q.) Are students required to do research papers as part of the high school curriculum?
A.) Yes.  Research skills are necessary to complete many assignments required by History, ELA, Science and other subjects.
